is it better than this
What makes something better to you?
finger licking
the rest of the sauce
from last night’s bbq
…
quality
can mean
many things
depending on
the utility we get
out of something
down to our tastebuds
part of the plan
Are you planning for success as well as failure?
ah yes
the umbrella opens
to welcome the rain
…
even when things
don’t go according
to plan at all
we should take pride
in that we are prepared
and ready to take action
in any and all events
then, here, and now
What is your process for creating value?
dabbing water
over the seaweed
my afternoon snack
…
before and after
here and there
point a to point b
back and forth
the words may change
but our process
stays the same
imagination
What’s been on your mind recently?
coconut water
a discovery worth
putting in a box
…
is artificial intelligence
our best tool
to feed and give prompts
to generate new ideas
or is it our mind
that is the true engine
to turn dreams into reality
leave room for
What are you leaving room for?
clickity clack
reaching the top
of the rollercoaster
…
surprise
magic
extra effort
delight
smiles
are but a
few outcomes
flash in the pan
Are you built to last?
Saturday market
a jewel kept in glass
a jam from the past
…
there will come a time when
we need to decide
if something is only
relevant today
and will fade away
or is this something
built to last
the job description
Is the job worth it for you?
feeling orange
cleaning up the beach
for another day
…
and what’s listed
on paper
is only part
of the equation
for us to consider
if this opportunity
is worth our time and energy
inside the box
Are you sharing your inventions?
only today
the rocks will
start to rumble
…
is a rock
that can talk
so don’t wait
before it’s too late
to see how creative
we can be
for all to see
ten seconds later
What do you still think about no matter how much time passes?
listen to the rain
a reminder that
even the sky cries
…
ten minutes later
ten hours later
ten days later
ten weeks later
ten months later
ten years later
our story still lingers
different and the same
Is your life going the same or differently than before?
tying shoelaces
a runner stops to
look at the sun
…
every year
every month
every week
every day
every hour
every minute
every second
tolerate to triumph
What gets you through hard times?
at the sento
a cloud moves
over the moon
…
until it’s too late
will this be our fate
or will we find
that it’s a piece of cake
to do the hard things
once we get one done
another one is twice the fun
